Ms. Kelly Simer is the Senior Academic Advisor in the Office for Academic & Pre-Professional Advising at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). Kelly is a proud UMBC alum and has been working at UMBC for over fifteen years. She earned her Masters in Education degree from the University of Delaware in Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education. In addition to working with Exploratory students on campus, Kelly is also the primary Pre-Nursing Advisor and the contact for the UMBC/UMSON Pre-Nursing Partnership. Kelly also regularly teaches courses through the Learning Resources Center, helping students reach their full academic potential. She is a presenter throughout campus on Learning Styles, and is passionate about encouraging students to identify how they learn best, utilizing that knowledge to improve their academic performance. Outside of work, Kelly is an avid runner who enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three daughters.
