Monique Ransom is the Assistant Director for Academic Advisor Development and Student Transition Programs at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). She is currently responsible for the administration of advisor training and development programs for UMBC’s advising community and serve as the central manager of all orientation advising programs. She is an alum of the University of Central Florida where she received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and her Master’s in Higher Education Administration. Monique has over nine years of experience working with a diverse population of undergraduate students in the areas of academic advising, student program development, recruitment and retention programming. Additionally, she has experience in organizing advisor development programs. Prior to UMBC, she was employed at the University of Maryland, College Park as a STEM Programs Coordinator where she provided leadership in the implementation of their STEM Exploration Series. Monique is an advocate for student success and enjoys empowering students by encouraging them to achieve their academic and career goals.
