Tim Cox

14199774_10103778848838458_3232495892016602923_nTim H. Cox is the Associate Director for Academic Advising, Outreach and Assessment at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). He has eight years of experience in enrollment management, student affairs and academic advising, and previously served as the Assistant Director of Advising and Student Success for UMBC’s Shady Grove programs. He is currently responsible for providing¬†academic advising leadership in various capacities including academic review processes, advising assessments, and business continuity.
Tim holds a master’s degree in higher education administration from Baruch College, City University of New York, another in academic advising from Kansas State University, and is a doctoral student at George Mason University.¬†Timis most passionate about helping students achieve their personal, academic and professional goals and is interested in researching how varying advising and mentoring approaches impact the persistence of students on academic probation. Tim enjoys traveling and searching for the best food and restaurants.
