Deanna Cerquetti is currently an Academic Advisor for the Office for Academic & Pre-Professional Advising as well as a Ph.D. candidate in UMBC’s Language, Literacy and Culture program. Deanna completed her B.A. in Psychology and Spanish language at Notre Dame of Maryland University and received her M.A. in Intercultural Communication (concentration in Hispanic Studies) from UMBC. She’s a former adjunct professor for the Spanish department and has also been very involved in shared governance at UMBC. She’s currently the co-chair of the Enrollment Management Staff Development Committee as well as a representative for the University of Maryland Council of University System Staff. Deanna finds passion in advocating for students as well as connecting them to resources so they can get the support they need to be successful.
Outside of UMBC, Deanna loves spending time with her family and her husband, Aaron, and her two cats! Deanna has also been dancer, singer, and performer since childhood and has taught dance fitness for many years.
