Academic Advising Community

The Academic Advising Community includes all faculty advisors, professional advisors, advising coordinators for academic departments, and anyone else at UMBC involved in academic advising for undergraduate students. The community is led and organized by the Office for Academic and Pre-Professional Advising.

Activities of the Advising Community include:

  • Meetings on current topics of interest, usually twice each semester
  • Regular communication on topics of interest through the Academic Advising Community myUMBC group
  • Special training and professional development opportunities for advisors, such as Webinars, speakers, and workshops
