Ms. Kelly Simer is the Senior Academic Advisor in the Office for Academic & Pre-Professional Advising. Kelly is a proud alum and has been working at UMBC for over twenty years! She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Geography & Environmental Systems from UMBC, and her Masters in Education degree from the University of Delaware in Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education. Kelly is the primary Pre-Nursing Advisor and coordinates both the BSN and MSN-E Partnership Pathways with the University of Maryland, School of Nursing. She is passionate about encouraging students to identify how they learn best, utilizing that knowledge to improve their academic performance. In addition to her work with Pre-Nursing students, Kelly also advises Exploratory students and assists with New Student Orientation each summer and winter. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her husband, three daughters, and their chocolate lab mix Rocky.
