Ms. Kelly Simer is the Senior Academic Advisor in the Office for Academic & Pre-Professional Advising. Kelly is a proud alum and has been working at UMBC for twenty years! She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Geography & Environmental Systems from UMBC, and her Masters in Education degree from the University of Delaware in Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education. In addition to working with Exploratory students on campus, Kelly is also the primary Pre-Nursing Advisor and the contact for the UMBC/UMSON Pre-Nursing Partnerships. She is a presenter throughout campus on Learning Styles and is passionate about encouraging students to identify how they learn best, utilizing that knowledge to improve their academic performance. Outside of work, Kelly is an avid runner who enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, three daughters, and their new puppy.
